Tony the night guard

As I mentioned in the previous post, I’ve been working on a short sound documentary. I originally wanted to use it as part of my Handface documentary, but now I’m not so sure. In any event it was a very good exercise for me, and I hope you enjoy it. Click here to listen or download.

As usual, it will be much more enjoyable if you are able to listen on real speakers or headphones…laptop speakers are not so great.

Please let me know what you think! This was definitely an experiment so I would like to hear some opinions.

It is really great. I felt like I was reading a really good short story. I wonder who will actually take it and publicize it. NPR would be a good start. May be BBC or RFI?

you know what i think it is about this story . . . even though it says a lot about you and your interests, it isn’t really your story, its tony’s. I really like it, and i think its a sweet piece of sound design, but i agree that i am not sure it fits in the whole handface series.

my favorite parts are when tony makes an interesting observation and you have pauses filled with music so that the listeners can sit back and think about what was just said.

why were you googling latent homosexuality?

I would think that someone as powerful and prescient as the amazing rolo would know the answer to such a pedestrian question.

hey anonymous, I hate gay people too! They’re soooooo gay! Dontcha think? That was funny when you called Yann “gay.”

I went to see a cowboy movie last night, but I left early.

Dear anonymous hater guy,
Wow, you need to chill out. Bad karma for the guy who laid out all that rubbish on an innocent artist. You have some serious negative vibes surrounding you if you feel the need to be so down on people you don’t even know.

I think YOU are the one who needs to step back and look at yourself and ask why you felt the need to be so utterly and absurdly mean to someone as innocent as this artist.

you are meanie.

PS: And whoever decided to make fun of anonymous-hater by using very descriptive imagery, um, that was gross and unnecessary. Some people don’t want to think of wine, cheese, and especially dogs being used in that way. And if it was a jab at homosexuality, it wasn’t very nice. Shame on you, you should know better than that.
